Check these first
- Thermostat is set to Cool and below room temperature
- The outdoor disconnect and breaker are on
- The furnace filter is clean (a dirty filter can freeze the coil)
- Nothing is blocking the outdoor unit
If it's iced up, turn it off
Switch the thermostat to Off and run the fan only to thaw the coil. Running a frozen AC can damage the compressor.

Why is my AC running but not cooling?
Low refrigerant, a dirty outdoor coil, a failed capacitor or a clogged filter are the usual causes. Check the filter first, then call us.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
If the unit is older and needs a compressor or a major refrigerant repair, replacement or a heat pump upgrade is usually the better spend.
