AC or heat pump?
An air conditioner only cools. A heat pump cools in summer and also heats your home through the shoulder seasons, with your furnace backing it up on very cold days.
For many Calgary homes the price gap is a few thousand dollars, so if you're replacing an AC, it's worth pricing both.
Where the outdoor unit goes
The condenser needs clear space for airflow and service. We keep it away from roof drip lines and drifting snow, and plan the shortest clean route for the refrigerant lines.
How much does AC installation cost in Calgary?
Typical Calgary range
Most central AC installs run about $5,000 to $8,500.
Home size, the unit's efficiency and the route for the refrigerant lines move it.

AC installation FAQs
Still unsure? Call 587-719-5115 and talk to a technician.
What size AC does my home need?
We size it with a proper calculation for your home. An oversized unit short cycles and leaves the house clammy, so bigger isn't better.
How long does AC installation take?
Most installs take a day.
When is the best time to install AC?
Fall through early spring. You get better scheduling and you're ready before the first heat wave.
Can you add AC if I don't have ductwork?
Ducted central AC needs a forced-air system. For homes without ducts, a ductless heat pump is the usual option. Ask us about it.
